Looking back at 2021, a year filled with of Nam Long's effort for the community

Overcoming the challenges of the pandemic, Nam Long Group persists with its mission of "Creating a valuable living environment and products for the community" through meaningful social responsibility programs and activities throughout 2021.

Contribute effort and spread positive values ​​during the epidemic season

Over three decades of establishment and development, Nam Long is one of the leading integrated real estate development companies in Vietnam. In addition to building quality products and contributing to improving people's lives, as an outstanding business, Nam Long always strives to join hands with the community, providing good acts to those in need.

This has been proven in the past year, during the fourth COVID-19 outbreak which had many consequences on people’s lives. As the fourth wave hit, Nam Long quickly launched the campaign "Nam Long contributing to fighting against COVID-19 pandemic" followed by many supportive activities such as: donating VND 9 billion to the vaccine fund and medical equipment to the frontline health workers at 27 hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City; donating VND 4.5 billion dong to provinces which are heavily affected by the pandemic such as Bac Giang and Long An; enforcing disinfection in residential buildings, setting up 0-dong supermarkets to support residents in during lockdown , etc.

In addition, to motivate and raise positivity among residents living in Nam Long’s townships and the community, encouraging them to share their happy moments with family, Nam Long held an online competition “ in urban areas of Nam Long in particular and the community in general to share happy moments with family, Nam Long organized an online contest "Play at home, bring the family together" on Children's Day. In addition to the family values, the contest aims to spread the positive spirit and raise awareness about Covid-19 prevention during lockdown.

As of July 2021, the campaign "Nam Long contributing to fighting against COVID-19 pandemic" has raised a total of VND 17 billion. This is a highlight in Nam Long’s contribution to the community, providing resources and motivating the frontline healthcare workers and the community to get over the pandemic, heading towards "the new normal".

Continuing to give wings to the young generation of Vietnam

Besides activities targeting different beneficiary groups, Nam Long is also known as a pioneer in developing and investing in the young generation. Specifically, 2021 was the 11th year the company carried out the "Swing for Dreams" scholarship program. This is an annual scholarship started by Nam Long, with the contribution of companies and entrepreneurs through "Nam Long Friendship Golf Tournament", to help talented students whose dream is making contributions to the society. 

The students awarded the “Swing for Dreams” scholarship are young people who dare to think, know how to do things and dream big.

As the pandemic hit, "Swing for Dreams" scholarship has a more special meaning for students, especially those that were impacted by the pandemic. More than 90 scholarships with a total value of VND 900 million were given away, along with Nam Long's hope for the rise of young Vietnamese people. In addition to "Swing for Dreams" scholarships, Nam Long also donated more than 10,000 notebooks and 30 bicycles to students in Long An, to encourage them to go to school. 

In addition to direct support, this year, Nam Long also built skill development programs for young adults. Indeed, Nam Long Design Award 2021 with the theme "Creating a playground for community cohesion - The Shape Of Community Space '' was co-organised by Nam Long and the University of Architecture, RGB and arcvibes for the Waterpoint project (Long An) with a total prize of VND 200 million. Not only is it a competition for talented architects, the contest also creates a cultural destination for Long An’s residents, improving their living experience.

Sharing about the journey over the past year, Tran Xuan Ngoc - General Director of Nam Long Group said: "By setting goals for sustainable development, joining hands to create a living environment and valuable products for the community in the past 30 years as well as in the future, Nam Long team wishes to dedicate and give the most practical support to those in need. From the experience after many years of efforts spent in improving the quality of life of the Vietnamese, we had been even more conscious of the difficulties that people across the country were facing during the pandemic. That is the biggest motivation, pushing us to bring more companionship to everyone.”

After many programs and activities, Nam Long's efforts have been recognized and honored as one of the businesses with great contributions to the community in 2021 at Saigon Times CSR 2021 organized by The Saigon Times (Saigon Economic Review). This is the second time in a row that the Group is honored with the same title, closing a meaningful year.
